Twitter which has been gaining popularity, specially since the social network released the newly designed interface, announced an update to its Android App. The social network rolled out the improvement keeping the Android users well updated, connected and with access to features compared to the Twitter iPhone App. The Android users would surely notice the change, keeping in view those users who have made a switch on their smartphones or planning to buy an Android handset. Twitter is making efforts on keeping the experience across mobile platforms, consistent.

The Update: Twitter For Android includes:

1. Tweet Details Page:

Twitter rolled out a new layout of the Timeline while introducing a Tweet Details Page. This feature, already present in Twitter for iPhone, Twitter for iPad and Twitter for Windows Phone, will make it easier for the Android users to click on links and reply to, retweet or favorite a Tweet.

2. Speed:

Twitter for Android has now been made smart as well as fast. We very well know that Android is able to grab a big share in the market due to its fast response. Twitter created a new way of presenting a timeline of Tweets which is optimized for scrolling speed.

3. Pull to Refresh:

Already available for Apple gadgets, this new feature lets users to simply pull down to unveil the new Tweets while you are at the top of your Timeline. Need to push the refresh button and wait for it to load have been made obsolete.

4. Swipe to Reveal:

To get quick access, revealing several options such as viewing a user profile, sharing a tweet, or replying, all you need to do is swipe across a Tweet.

5. Quote a Tweet:

By clicking the retweet icon, Twitter now gives you the option to quote a Tweet, which is a major feature for users who were tired of being forced to simply retweet.

An additional option which has been made exclusively for Android handsets, is the addition of a high resolution of Avatar which Twitter smartly snaps using your camera.
