Microsoft Surface users has been facing a problem of Wi-Fi connectivity since the very first day of tablets launch. Most of the users had this problem and after some time, the tablet started showing ‘Limited Connectivity’ error in Wi-Fi status and users couldn’t use the internet on Surface until a new restart or reconnection was made. Some users couldn’t even get the error fixed after reconnection to Wi-Fi network or after restaring.

Microsoft few days ago released an update for all Surface tablets to get the error fixed but, the update didn’t seem to have fixed the problem. Many people including me are still getting the Limited Connectivity error on Wi-Fi network. Microsoft may have fixed the issue but, for those of you who are having the Wi-Fi connectivity issues can use the workaround to get the issue fixed.

Just follow the instructions below to resolve the Surface Wi-Fi connectivity issue in seconds.

Disclaimer: The solution to fix Wi-Fi limited connectivity issue includes changing the core files of Windows RT on your Surface which may results in malfunctioning of any part of Windows RT or even your Surface. So, proceed on your own risk and incase of any damage, Windows8Core.com or its team won’t be held responsible.

Instructions:

Note: It’s better to back-up your important data before proceeding further. Better safe than sorry.

 • First of all, go to Start Screen by pressing the Windows button your Surface tablet. In Start Screen go to Search Charm by swiping from right and selecting ‘Search‘.

 • Type in ‘cmd’ in the ‘Search’ box. ‘Command Prompt‘ would be showed in results.

 • Swipe down on the Command Prompt tile and the app bar will open. Select ‘Run as administrator’ from the app bar.

 • Command Prompt will open on the desktop. Type or copy and paste the following in the command prompt

netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled

 • Press ‘Enter’. You would see ‘Ok’ as answer. Now, type the following:

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

 • Press ‘Enter’. You would see ‘Ok’ again. Type the following now:

netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled

 • Press ‘Eneter’ and you would see ‘Ok’. Now, finally type the following:

netsh int tcp show global

 • This time you will see a couple of settings and all should be disabled except one or two. If, all are disabled except one you are good to go.

 • Now, your Wi-Fi should be connected to internet again. You won’t face the Wi-Fi limited connectivity problem again.

 • That’s all!
