We have a lift off! Didn’t take all that long for Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update to hit carrier-locked smartphones, as the rollout on wireless networks has just begun.

Microsoft finally initiated things exactly one week after the update was released for unlocked devices.

As expected, actually.

If you’re the owner of one such phone, then be on the lookout for build 14393.67. This despite the fact that a newer one in the form of build 14393.83 has been out in the Release Preview ring for about a week as well.

But that’s perfectly alright.

To get the update, you’ll obviously need to already be running Windows 10 Mobile on your phone. If you are, then proceed to Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. Worth a mention here that unlike last time, you will not be required to opt-in through the Upgrade Advisor app.

In other words, this upgrade will be heading your way one time or another, as long as you have got Windows 10 Mobile running on your device.

As for what the Anniversary Update brings to the platform, there is a small array of new features that Microsoft has added in for the mobile operating system.

verything from the brand-new Skype Preview app as well as the tap-to-pay functionality for select devices. Obviously, not as much as some users wanted, but there is a fair amount of small refinements made to the mobile OS.

Redmond is now said to be heavily focused on Windows 10 Mobile this year for the second wave of the Redstone upgrade, and in that respect getting the Anniversary Update out the gate is a bit of a milestone in of itself.
