At Computex 2017, Asus yesterday announced the world’s first 35″ ultra-wide QHD (3440×1440) monitor with quantum dots, HDR, and G-Sync at a whopping 200Hz.
The ROG Swift PG35VQ’s massive 35” diagonal across curved screen comes with a 21:9 aspect ratio for an immersive viewing experience. The display’s UQWHD 3440×1440 resolution will enable you to hit higher frame rates and corresponding refresh rates when compared to 4K monitors. It’s capable of refreshing at a whopping 200Hz.
The ROG Swift PG35VQ also supports HDR through the HDR10 standard. Similar to how Samsung is using in high-end TVs, Asus is using quantum dots to broaden the spectrum of tones the display can produce. It supports the wider DCI-P3 color space typically associated with cinema projectors. The maximum brightness supported by this monitor is 1000 nits. The panel is illuminated by 512 individual LEDs that can be controlled independently to darken specific portions of the picture. The ROG Swift PG35VQ also has integrated RGB illumination that’s part of our Aura Sync ecosystem.
Asus yesterday also announced the new ROG Strix series monitors. The XG32VQ comes with a 31.5″ panel across an 1800R curve. This has the highest resolution, at 2560×1440, and the refresh rate scales up to 144Hz. The XG27VQ comes with a 27-inch panel with the same curvature and resolution of 1920×1080. The new XG258Q comes with flat 25″ 1080p panel with 240Hz refresh rate. All three monitors are equipped with Aura RGB lighting, and the XG32VQ can synchronize colors and effects with Aura Sync-compatible hardware.
