At IFA 2017 Asus threw its own hat into the Windows Mixed Reality ring, announcing the unimaginatively named  ASUS Windows Mixed Reality headset.

Powered by Windows 10 and designed to bring you immersive real-world and virtual experiences, it features a unique design with a pattern of hundreds of 3D polygons and a glossy tone-on-tone effect. Weighing under 400g (less than one pound) and featuring a balanced-crown design that that reduces pressure on the nose and face, Asus says the ASUS Windows Mixed Reality Headset is cool and comfortable to wear for extended periods.

The ASUS Windows Mixed Reality headset features inside-out tracking with two built-in front-facing tracking cameras with 6 degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) position tracking and does not need external sensors or additional software, making the initial setup simple so you’re up and running in minutes.

The headset will otherwise feature the same specs of other WMR headsets, but Asus has priced the device at €449 (presumably with controllers) and is aiming it at the professional and training market. To facilitate this it will feature “quick drying antibacterial materials” to avoid any sweat-related germs passing between users.
