With the increasing popularity of Android, developers have started building applications for the operating system. You can now choose from countless third-party applications for your smartphone equipped with Android.

Today we go over three great third-party music applications for the Android OS. These applications have their own areas of strength which you will surely find highly useful. Read on and see which application suits your needs best.

1. Ringdroid
Ringdroid is a great Android music application that, apart from the traditional music playing feature, comes with bonus functionalities. With it, a user can record sounds, edit them, and create ringtones, all directly on the smartphone. Taking advantage of the touchscreen where available, a user can also set starting and ending points of a music clip; the resultant clip can then be directly saved as a separate music file, ringtone, alarm, or notification. This created tune can also be assigned to a contact within the application. Ringdroid currently supports the following audio formats: MP3, AAC, MP4, WAV, 3GPP, and AMR.

2. TuneWiki

TuneWiki can be an excellent replacement for the default music player in Android. TuneWiki can play your songs with lyrics (lyrics are found automatically); the lyrics are synchronized to your song and are shown according to their timing. Using YouTube, the application can show the user the top 50 songs of the day, week, or month. The lyrics are also synched to the YouTube videos. You can also do a direct YouTube search of a song you want to listen to. Its two main features are lyrics synchronization and the playlist creation of top songs but there are many other features (such as searching for specific lyrics, changing the language of lyrics, and see who else is using TuneWiki on a map) which make TuneWiki a wonderful Android music application.

3. Pandora

Also called Pandora Radio, this application lets Android smartphone users get the most of internet radio on their phones. All one has to do is type the name of one an artist, song or classical composer and Pandora will create a “station” that plays their music and more music like it. This automatic searching and station creation takes out the time required by a user in searching for the right internet radio station. If you want to save your Android cellphone’s storage space and want to listen to music directly off internet radio, then Pandora is the way to go.
