WeTube

You may be a tad surprised with the recent amount of YouTube Windows 8 apps that we have covered recently, but this particular one is hard to miss. WeTube Pro has just gone free for a limited time.

The app is free for the first 10,000 downloads — so act fast if you want in.

WeTube is one of the many apps that let you download YouTube video from the world’s most popular video sharing service. But an added advantage is that clips from Facebook and other video websites can also be downloaded to Windows 8 or Windows RT devices.

Here is the official description:

Quote
“Ever want to download videos from youtube or facebook so that you can watch offline? Try WeTube Pro. WeTube is a smart web browser that automatically lists all downloadable videos for 1-click download. While browsing the web as usual, all videos files are also ready to save to local drive.”
Compared to other YouTube clients that are available on the Windows Store, this one is offered as a browser — meaning you will need to manually input (not necessarily type) in the address from either YouTube of Facebook.

Downloadable videos are then automatically detected and displayed on the right panel, whereby each item can be clicked to start downloading. The progress bar at the bottom displays the status.

Once a video clip is downloaded, the app also offers the ability to convert it into a MP3 file.

The design is plain and simple as you would expect with a carefully crafted layout. And the app can be installed on all versions of Windows 8, including x86, x64 and ARM builds.
