First, take a look at the power cord making sure it is plugged into the printer completely. Epson has published a
Communication Error page that might help it tracking down any issues.
Have a look at
Device Manager and see if there is an exclamation mark by your printer entry.
Check the Event Viewer, have a look
here to access the viewer. Look for any Errors regarding your printer.
There is the possibility your USB cable has become bad, take a look at that. If that's the case it's an easy, fast, and inexpensive fix.
