Several users are experiencing the classic
blue screens related to a Win32kfull error . sys after installing the latest cumulative update.
13 MARCH 2021 | Microsoft has announced that it is
working on solving the problem and has published more details on the bug by also posting two workarounds if you do not want to uninstall the cumulative update.
This problem affects a subset of Type 3 printer drivers and does not affect Type 4 printer drivers. If you are unsure of the type of printer driver, follow these steps:
1. Press Windows key + r or select Start, type Run and select it.
2. Type printmanagement.msc and press Enter or select the OK button .
3. If Print Management opens, go to step 4. If you receive the error, Windows cannot find “printmanagement.msc”. then select Start and type manage optional features and select it. Select Add a function and type print , select the checkbox next to Print Management Console and select Install. Now you will need to start over from step 1.
4. Expand Print Server, expand your computer name, and select Printers.
5. You can now see the driver type for each of the installed printer drivers.
Workaround: To mitigate the problem, follow the instructions in this video. The command prompt commands from the video are as follows (you will need to replace the KX driver for universal printing with your printer name, as explained in the video):

Microsoft has announced that it is investigating the problem and will provide more information soon.
After installing KB50008XX, you may receive an APC_INDEX_MISMATCH error with a blue screen when you try to print to certain printers in some apps.
We are currently investigating and will provide an update as more information becomes available.
Fix BSoD and printing errorAccording to several reports, it would seem that the latest Windows 10 cumulative update is affected by
a bug that generates the classic blue screen that reports the Win32kfull driver error. sys while trying to print. At the moment it is not clear what this problem is due to however it
could be in relation to the correction of a vulnerability related to the printing function, made with the latest patch of March on all recent versions of Windows 10.
Security elevation vulnerability, documented in CVE-2021-1640, related to print jobs sent to the “FILE:” ports. After installing Windows Updates from March 9, 2021, onwards, print jobs that are in a pending state before restarting the Print Spooler service or restarting the operating system will remain in an error state.
Microsoft has not yet acknowledged the bug or provided a solution, however, it
is possible to resolve the problem by uninstalling the latest cumulative update pending an official fix.
1. Open Windows 10
Settings.
2. Go to
Update & Security>
View update history>
Uninstall updates.
3. Locate the latest cumulative update installed,
right-click on it and
uninstall it.
