Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS release has been made available to download.

The 3rd point release in the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS series, this update rolls together all of the security patches, bug fixes, and software updates issued to the Jammy Jellyfish since the previous point release, into a shiny new ISO image.

I.e. it’s a real-time saver for those doing a fresh install.

Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS also includes a new hardware enablement stack (HWE) composed of Linux kernel 6.2 and Mesa 23.0.4 (a sizeable update in itself).

Package updates include GNOME Shell 42.9, LibreOffice 7.5.5 (an uplift over the 7.3.x series), and Mozilla Firefox 116.

See the Ubuntu Discourse for a full(er) comparison of changes from Ubuntu 22.04.2 to Ubuntu 22.04.3.

As a reminder, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is supported until April 2027. Support beyond that is provided through an Ubuntu Pro subscription.

Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS is due for release next year and it will bring over the kernel and graphics stack from Ubuntu 23.10.

Download Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is good until 2027

You can download Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS from the Ubuntu website or the Ubuntu releases server (where torrents are available). System requirements are modest: dual-core CPU, 4GB RAM, and at least 25GB of storage space.

If you already run Ubuntu 22.04 LTS — an awful lot of people do; users of LTS editions dramatically outnumber those on short-term/interim releases — you do not need to download anything other than software updates to “get” all of the goodies mentioned above.

In fact, if you stay on top of your updates you probably have everything already – go enjoy!
