For all intents and purposes, today is an unofficial Internet Explorer day. Microsoft’s browser has been in the news for all the good reasons, from the release of IE 11 virtual machines to a new study by NSS Labs that shows IE 10 provides the best privacy options on the market.

And now an internal test conducted by Microsoft puts the spotlight on the upcoming version of the company’s popular web browser.

As it turns out, Internet Explorer 11 is faster than all of its rivals when it comes to JavaScript performance. And this is something Microsoft takes great pride in, as it noted in a statement:

Quote
“As we improve performance for real-world sites, IE11’s JavaScript performance on benchmarks like WebKit SunSpider continues to lead compared with latest version of other browsers.”
According to Microsoft’s findings, IE 11 for Windows 7 is faster than solutions like IE 10, Chrome 28, Firefox 22 and Opera 15 with varying amounts each. On Windows 7, for example, IE 11 loads pages 4 percent faster than its predecessor, and a roaring 30 percent faster than Chrome28.

Google has always boasted about the fast JavaScript performance of Chrome, and it appears Microsoft has made several improvements under the hood to whoosh past its famed competitor.

IE 11 is set to be the default browser on Windows 8.1 when it hits general availability later this year.
