Kinoma Play for Windows Mobile: A "Social Media Browser"
« on: June 08, 2009, 11:15:30 AM »
The latest version of Kinoma Play, formerly a media player type of application for Windows Mobile, has just released a new version they’re calling a “social media browser.” Now, in addition to the multimedia streaming of photos and videos from sites like YouTube, flickr, SmugMug, Last.fm, and others, Kinoma will also let you share that same media across those sites as well as on social networks like Twitter and Facebook. SMS sharing has been enabled, too, for sending tunes to your friends.

Another new feature in this release is Kinoma’s ability to let you customize your Windows Mobile homescreen using a feature called “ZoomLinks,” which provide fast access to your favorite stuff. That “stuff” can be nearly anything – individual items, entire photo albums, flickr photostreams, YouTube favorites, Twitter tweets, preset radio stations, favorite podcasts, or even a specific feature within the Kinoma Play application itself.

Finally, the new release features a built-in App Store courtesy of Mobihand where you can shop for and purchase Windows Mobile applications, check out screenshots and video demos before purchasing, and download free trials.

When you sign up for Kinoma Play, you receive 1 GB of free online storage from Box.net where you can store over 250 songs. That alllows you to move media between your phone and PC easily, thanks to the app’s integration with the service.

This new release of Kinoma Play is available now as a free upgrade to allow Windows Mobile users who have already purchased the application. If you want to buy a copy of the app for yourself, you can do so from the Kinoma Play website for $29.99
