Brings native 3D output and Blu-Ray
A newly leaked 56 paged document shed some light on the company's plans for Xbox 720. The presentation in the document appears to be from August 2010 and reveals information about the improvements in Xbox 720 such as SmartGlass, a Metro styled dashboard, and TV apps for Xbox.
The document reveals that Microsoft had planned to include support for Blu-Ray, native 3D output and glasses, concurrent apps, additional sensor and peripheral support. Alongside a promised 6x performance increase, there's also mention of true 1080p output with full 3D support and an "always on" state for the console. Since Microsoft hopes to make the Xbox console the only media box needed for living room entertainment, the company was hoping to have a unit priced at $299 with its Kinect 2 hardware and a prediction of a 10 year life-cycle and over 100 million units sold, according to the document. These are some big dreams the company had. As of now, the leaked document has been removed and shows only a note that it was removed "at the request of Covington & Burling LLP." But what if these plans became a reality?
