As expected, Google has announced the first beta of the next version of Android — Q.

Android Q’s largest feature is foldable support. Google has worked with smartphone makers like Samsung and Huawei in building their own foldable. However, the ‘real’ software adaptation will come with Android Q which is built to support several different display configurations.

Other interesting user-facing features are improved bokeh capture with Google’s new dynamic depth APIs and faster sharing with a redesigned share sheet for faster sharing.

Much of what’s in this first build is under the hood stuff, and we won’t really get an idea of everything that’s coming until Google’s annual i/O developers event.

Android Q is coming to all Pixel devices, including the original Pixel and Pixel XL. If you have one of those, you can head to Google’s Android Preview site here (http://developer.android.com/preview).
