It will not be long now: On October 2nd, Microsoft will most likely introduce a dual-screen surface that we only know by the name of "Centaurus".

For this, we could see an early version of "Windows Lite" - a specially created for dual-screen devices OS.

With now 5 days remaining until the Surface Event, we would like to give you a little hype with a video developed by us.

We point out that this is the visualization of previous leaks and rumors, which were reinterpreted by us. What "Surface Centaurus" will look like in the end, we'll probably hear on October 2nd.

Surface Centaurus: A new device category introduces itself

Microsoft will launch Centaurus, a completely new device category with the Surface Brand. Two displays that are most reminiscent of a book when folded. When unfolded you get a huge tablet.

Several setup modes are designed to enable users to combine productivity and fun.

Surface Centaurus: High resolution render images

The Surface Centaurus, which should provide between 13 and 14 inches screen diagonal, can also be placed in a laptop position. Here you can, of course, use the touch screen to type, but this is not really useful in the productive use.

Would not it be great if you could simply put the Surface Type Cover over it and type "Centaurus" as normal?

Surface Centaurus: Video shows Hinge and Windows Lite

In our concept video, we not only visualized the hardware of the Surface Centaurus including the hinge mechanism. We also worked on previous concept creations of Windows Lite.

In an earlier post by us, we summarized the alleged benefits of Windows Lite:

Microsoft has already addressed some of the issues that the new modern OS should offer:

   ■ Significantly faster Windows updates

   ■ More safety

   ■ Permanent internet connection

   ■ Increased performance

   ■ Cloud-Connected

   ■ Adaptation to form factors

The question remains whether Microsoft for the OS for dual-screen devices, the Windows name will remain exciting.

Radical it would be if Redmond would also make a clear mark in the name. And while this may be a "hype" post, I link up an earlier opinion article that casts doubt on the true radicalism of Windows Lite.
