Windows 10 Creators Update Coming To PCs First
« on: March 06, 2017, 06:55:26 PM »
As if you expected anything different! Microsoft is now in the process of giving the final touches to the Windows 10 Creators Update, now that this version of the OS if feature locked.

But it appears that we will not get a simultaneous release on PCs and mobile this time around, either.

Because, apparently, the software titan has confirmed that the initial update will be for the desktop, and other versions will only be made available after the rollout on computers. Of course, this should not come as a surprise to anyone.

And that is due to the fact that while development of the operating system runs in parallel across all its versions, at least in recent time, the company has never released all the versions at the same time.

With the Creators Update set to ship to the Production channel in April, and an RTM version on track to arrive for Insiders later this month, it looks like the Windows 10 Mobile update will be held back. Redmond will, then, want to deliver a cumulative update for the mobile operating system.

That said since the RTM build number is same across all versions of the OS, there is every chance that the cumulative update for Windows 10 Mobile will not be delayed by more than a few weeks.

For the immediate future, though, expect Microsoft to prioritize the launch on the PC platform.
