Did you know that the same Microsoft Office applications used at work can be installed on employee's home computers? (legally, I might add)

Microsoft offers a special Software Assurance Home Use Program (HUP) where employees can get the latest version of Microsoft Office to install on their home computers. A lot of times employee's home computers might be a couple versions behind what is being used in the office, so this program ensures synchronicity between home and work.

The download costs $9.95, but gives the employee full use of the same applications.

The program is available through the Volume Licensing Service Center (http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter/default.aspx) (VLSC) and those in charge of company licensing sign-up, activate the program, and receive a special program code that can be provided to those home users that need access to Microsoft office.

The company receives reports to show how many copies of Microsoft Office have been downloaded and which employees have taken advantage of the program.  Download the VLSC HUP Usage Report Guide (http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/c/7/5c727885-ec15-4920-818b-4d140ec6c38a/Home_Use_Program_Usage_Reports_Guide.pdf)
