Three days ago Microsoft released a new build of Windows 10 RS4 to the Fast Ring to address a reliability issue with the last RTM candidate, build 17133 , where “in certain cases, these reliability issues could have led to a higher percentage of (BSOD) on PCs for example.”

We had since heard a percentage of users complain of a bug which caused the Settings app to crash when changing the default applications.

According to members of the Windows Insider team, the issue was not widespread, and Microsoft has now pushed forward with sending the new build to the Slow Ring, presumably with the goal of hopefully eventually moving to Release Ring and then RTM.

Insiders in the Slow Ring can now download what might be the final RS4 built to test by Checking for Updates in Settings.
