CES 2018: ASUS Republic of Gamers unveils latest gaming lineup

At CES 2018 today, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) unveiled several new products in its lineup of gaming gear including a laptop, desktop, keyboard, and more. A full press release from the company details everything you need to know about the hardware, but we will give you a quick rundown below.

First up is the ROG Strix SKT T1 Hero Edition (seen above). This is a limited edition gaming laptop and is a collaboration between ROG and top eSports team SK Telecom T1. Because of this, it will include various ROG-SK Telecom T1 co-branded collectibles. The ROG Strix SKT T1 Hero Edition is designed for MOBA gaming and comes equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics, and features a 120Hz IPS-level display with a 100% sRGB color gamut. It will be available Q1 2018 with a price announced upon launch.

ROG Strix GL12



The ROG Strix GL12 is a powerful desktop designed to provide the best performance for gamers. It is powered by a factory-overclocked 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor (up to 4.8GHz full Hexa-Core) with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics. It also includes an expansion bay and an easy-swap SSD tray to make system upgrades effortless. ROG Strix GL12 and all upcoming ROG desktops and laptops will feature Aura Sync to enable gamers to synchronize lighting effects with supported keyboards, mice, headphones and other accessories. This piece will be available Q2 2018 with pricing announced at launch.

ROG G703



The ROG G703 is being billed as the “world’s first gaming laptop with an ultra-smooth 17.3-inch Full HD wide-view display with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology for a 144Hz refresh rate.” The laptop is powered by a factory-overclocked Intel Core i7-7820HK processor that boasts speeds of up to 4.3 GHz out of the box and features NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics. You can pick up the ROG G703 right now starting at $3499.

ROG Strix Flare



The ROG Strix Flare is an RGB mechanical gaming keyboard constructed with world-renowned Cherry MX RGB switches. Dedicated media keys, which include a volume wheel, are located on the upper left of the keyboard for instant access. The backlit keys are individually programmable and there is a swappable, illuminated acrylic insert emblazoned with the ROG badge.

ROG Aura Terminal



The ROG Aura Terminal is a quad-channel addressable RGB controller. It allows for system lighting effects synchronized to in-game action. When LED strips are mounted on the back of your monitor, the ROG Aura Terminal instantly determines the colors displayed at the edges of the screen and illuminates the LED strips with matching colors thanks to its innovative ROG Halo technology.

Bezel-free Kit



This accessory lets players with multiple-monitor setups to visually eliminate the gaps where their displays connect, giving your setup the appearance of being one long, continuous monitor. The kit consists of vertical lenses and mounts that connect the edge of each monitor at a 130-degree angle. Using light refraction, the monitor edges will disappear.

ROG Spotlight



Another accessory announced today, the ROG Spotlight projects the ROG logo on a wall or surface to create an “enhanced gaming atmosphere.” It features a magnetic base for secure attachment to any metal surfaces and provides 360 degrees of adjustment.



Pricing for the ROG Strix Flare, ROG Aura Terminal, ROG Spotlight, and ROG Bezel-free Kit will be announced at launch.
