The Xbox One X is still a while from release, but everyone in the press is chomping at it. Whether you’re going to be picking one up on launch day or reading all of our coverage and impressions of the new console, every Xbox fan is going to be affected by the launch of Microsoft’s new premium hardware. To help prime you for the upcoming console, The Verge has put out an excellent video that talks about not only the hardware of the Xbox One X, but how it came into being.
VIDEO It’s been something of a mystery why the Xbox One X was made, considering its existence is altogether unnecessary, according to conventional wisdom. The creation of a console whose main selling point is 4k is a huge risk, when the vast majority of people don’t have access to a 4k TV.
From the cuts of metal and compressed hardware that runs in the Xbox One X to the “infinite black” paint job that gives the console its sleek appearance, the new Xbox has a ton of tender love and care put into it. Commentary aside, we’ll have to wait and see just how the public ends up receiving such an ambitious piece of hardware.
