When Microsoft released Windows 8, it was focused on touch and resulted in a lot of complaints from keyboard/mouse users. With Windows 8.1, Microsoft brought back the focus to keyboard/mouse users and attempted to blur the line between touch and non-touch. With Windows 10, Microsoft is looking to take things a step further.
Emphasized in a tweet by Microsoft's Gabriel Aul, the Redmond giant is placing focus on touch targeting. In other words, Microsoft wants to ensure that Windows 10 features the right size and spacing for mouse or touch. When asked if Microsoft was looking at concept designs for File Explorer, Aul tweeted that he does definitely look at them and loves seeing 'cool high fidelity mockups by Windows fans.'
You can see the tweet embedded below. Microsoft is definitely looking to make Windows 10 a hybrid for both touch and non-touch users. We've yet to 'officially' play with a new feature that will likely get introduced early next year -- Continuum. This feature is meant for devices with multiple input methods. Continuum will ask users if they want to switch to a touch friends or mouse friendly interface depending on whether or not a keyboard is attached. This will definitely blur the line between touch and non-touch.
