Sound Blaster Unveils New PC Audio Hardware
« on: August 06, 2015, 03:24:34 PM »

Creative Labs (more recently Creative Technology) are legends in PC history for helping to drive the quality of PC, and mostly gaming, audio with its Sound Blaster products and audio cards.

Now, with most audio solutions on the motherboard offering surround sound and HD audio, there is less need for discrete audio cards, but some users still demand them, while Creative has moved to external sound cards for notebook users to improve their audio.

So, to the Sound BlasterX series that offers an external audio card for notebook users and range of headsets. The range will be available in the fall and features:

• Sound BlasterX H7 – ultimate HD 7.1 Surround USB circumaural gaming headset

• Sound BlasterX H5 – a professional-grade analog circumaural gaming headset

• Sound BlasterX P5 – a miniature yet powerful high-performance in-ear gaming headset

• Sound BlasterX G5 – a 7.1 HD audio external sound card with built-in headphone amplifier

The Sound BlasterX G5 is uses an SB-Axx1 multicore chipset for hardware accelerated SBX Pro Studio enhanced audio 24-bit/96kHz, with a 120dB USB DAC, offering 7.1 audio for scary surround sound, and it can turn 2.0 sound into 3D sound as a bonus

The products are being shown off at Gamescom in Germany and one of the key features is audio profiling that helps customize audio output for the type of game you’re playing, so you can focus on the engine note of a racing title, or the far away footsteps in a first person shooter.

The headphones will also look pretty good and work well on Xbox One and PlayStation consoles too.
