Launched a couple of months ago, Gmail's Priority Inbox has a pretty difficult mission -- highlight what's actually important in the sea of rubbish that comes in via email. Yesterday, Google kicked Priority Inbox's adaptive learning algorithm into gear, taking much more from your manual corrects, which should hopefully result in better results and fewer errors.
Google also pushed out a some improvements to the 'importance marker,' which will now tell you why Priority Inbox thinks the labeled email is actually important. Simply hover over the icon with your mouse and it'll give you a quick explanation as shown above, demystifying why Gmail has picked that particular conversation out.
Google reckons Priority Inbox allows people to spend 15% less time reading email overall and 43% more time reading important email -- but how have you, our dear readers got on with it?
