Every month, Microsoft delivers security patches and other improvements with Patch Tuesday updates. Microsoft was supposed to release a pretty big Patch Tuesday today, but the company is delaying the release due to a last minute issue. Microsoft stated in a blog post that the issue wasn’t fixed in time for the Patch Tuesday today, which is why the company decided to delay this month’s update:

Quote
“Our top priority is to provide the best possible experience for customers in maintaining and protecting their systems. This month, we discovered a last minute issue that could impact some customers and was not resolved in time for our planned updates today.

After considering all options, we made the decision to delay this month’s updates. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change to the existing plan.”

Microsoft didn’t reveal what exactly the last minute issue is, but it sounds like the issue is quite severe.
