As expected, Xiaomi’s biggest phone to date is called the Mi Max, and it sports a 6.44 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display, a big battery, and a reasonably low starting price.

The Xiaomi Mi Max is available in China for 1499 RMB and up. That’s about $230.

Xiaomi has a reputation for offering high-quality hardware at entry-level or mid-range prices. So what kind of specs do you get for a $230 phone?

An entry-level Mi Max features a Qualcomm Snpragon 650 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 4,850 mAh battery. It has a fingerprint sensor, a 16MP rear camera, a 5MP wide-angle front camera, dual SIM support, and Xiaomi says the device is optimized to automatically adjust screen pixels for the best possible visibility in brightly-lit environments.

Xiaomi will also offer two higher-end configurations with slightly faster Snapdragon 652 processors:

► 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for RMB 1699 ($260)

► 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for RMB 1999 ($307)

Each phone will ship with MIUI 8, the latest version of Xiaomi’s custom version of Google Android. The latest version of MIUI includes a power-saving mode, redesigned fonts, new wallpapers, video editing tools, and more.
