Windows 10 Anniversary Update ISOs Also Coming August 2
« on: July 29, 2016, 06:13:36 PM »
Well, that’s a relief. Microsoft has confirmed that ISO files for the upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be made available right at launch, that being August 2.

Actually, Mary Jo Foley has revealed this.

But considering the fact that she is the most prominent authority on Microsoft reports and rumors, this is about as good an unofficial confirmation as one can get these days.

Here is the tweet, just to be sure:

Good thing that a Microsoft spokesperson was at hand to clear up any doubts.

Now all we need is some solid confirmation that Redmond will stick to this launch date.

The company has been known to shift dates and miss projections — and these flaky timeframes are no surprises considering the sheer magnitude of these releases and how much work that goes into developing and testing an OS like Windows.

Purists still wanted the July 29, 2016 date, so that it could serve as the namesake of the Anniversary Update, codenamed Redstone.

Any other date, like August 2 here, for instance, becomes a moot point, then.

But while there are currently no signs that Microsoft will not be able to initiate the rollout by August 2, it is worth keeping an eye on things if anything changes between now launch. Hopefully not, but one never can tell in the world of computing technology.
