Microsoft recently announced that Windows 8 would launch with an upgrade offer of $39.99 in October, this offer will last until the end of January 2013. Now, the company have confirmed that British customers will pay £24.99, instead of £40.

British customers expected Microsoft to charge £40 for the Windows 8 upgrade offer, since that's what it was in US dollars. If this was the case, then the company would be over-charging British customers. Luckily, the company have announced today that those with a pound currency will only have to pay £24.99 for the upgrade, which sounds cheap, but really isn't as £24.99 in the UK is around $40 in the US.

This upgrade offer launches on the 26th October 2012, when Windows 8 is launched to the masses. The upgrade offer will last until January 2013, after that you will be charged full price for the product.
