Microsoft Cloud Office 365 – Doing Very Well
« on: December 05, 2011, 05:12:53 PM »
Microsoft is pleased that its Cloud service is doing well. Microsoft is offering the Office365 productivity service in 22 additional markets. Some of the new locations are in Argentina, Iceland, Indonesia, South Africa and Taiwan.

8 Times Faster Growth

According to Microsoft the growth of the Cloud Office 365 product is eight time faster than what they expected. Indeed, it is on track to be one of their fastest growing app offers in Microsoft history.

And if this is any indication of how well some small businesses are doing, 90 percent of the activity is coming from small business operations. (Maybe the economy is picking up.)

What Cloud Office 365 does

Because many companies have branches located in different regions, it is difficult but important to have community of work. That is users in one branch should be able to work with workers in a remote branch. Office 365 does that. It makes it happen. It is an office productivity program. Campbell Soup and Groupe Marie-Clair are using it for just those purposes.

Campbell Soup

According to Joe Spagnoletti,  “We’re betting on the cloud — and Office 365 — as we prepare to build a highly collaborative workplace where employees across our global offices can all work together and communicate in a seamless fashion.”

Groupe Marie-Claire

This is a leading fashion magazine published in more than 30 countries. As you can imagine, having locations distributed worldwide can cause problems for the magazine. You have legacy hardware and legacy applications. Time constraints can also affect operations. Office 365 will modernize the company’s email and collaboration capabilities, while moving away from a costly and inefficient legacy technology. Employees at Groupe Marie-Claire will be able to access email and share documents on a PC, Mac or various mobile devices with Office 365.

Mac Support

Another well-rounded benefit comes with Mac Support. Mac users can now use instant messaging, presence and videoconferencing through Office 365.
