Windows 10 Build 10240 Could Be The Final RTM
« on: July 13, 2015, 02:50:15 PM »
Well, at least it’s divisible by 16, as RTM versions are. Microsoft is said to be testing Windows 10 build 10240 internally, as it gears up to push the operating system to this final milestone.

While the company has, so far, not said a word on this, unofficial information continues to emerge detailing what the decision makers at Redmond are planning — there are signs now that the software titan has shortlisted a new RTM candidate.

Which could well be the final version that everyone receives come July 29.

This has been posted here, with claims that this could be the version that gets the greenlight if everything goes well.

And it apparently is, at least up until now, and this build is running smoothly.

The full string of this build is 10240.16384.150709-1700, and it is part of th1, the RTM branch for the new operating system that Microsoft recently set up.

Do bear in mind that all this is unofficial information, and these are all unconfirmed details. Even if they seem very likely to be true, and feels plausible. Nothing should be taken for granted here, until and unless Microsoft releases a statement.

Besides, we already have the case of build 10176 at hand, which was said to be the RTM version, before Redmond decided the operating system needed a bit more polish.

To date, the list of candidates is as follows:

• 10163.0.th1.150701-1220 (Sign-Off)
• 10176.16384.th1.150705-0552
• 10176.16384.th1.150705-1526
• 10208.16384.th1.150707-1528
• 10224.16384.th1.150708-1812
• 10240.16384.th1.150709-1700
