Windows 7 Libraries
« on: September 28, 2011, 01:20:07 AM »
Ever found that W7 explorer starts to chug and gag? Using up loads of RAM? Stopped responding? In my case (W7-64bit) I found that using explorer the old fashioned way was quick, yet browsing via libraries was slow. I found a tweak that disabled the libraries (it is reversible). Search google for it. Once tweaked, you'll need to redo your jump lists for explorer (start by deleting everything in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations). Loads quicker - there are some changes you need to get used to like the layout of the side pane in explorer, but nothing major. I never had more than 2 folders in my libraries anyway, so it hasn't affected my file management.  ;D

Why not help the forum members and post this tweak?
