Microsoft: No new Windows 10 Builds for PC until January 2018
« on: December 30, 2017, 02:09:49 AM »
Last week, Microsoft rolled out a Windows 10 preview build with a bunch of new features and improvements. Today, Windows Insider program chief Dona Sarkar revealed that the build Microsoft rolled out 10 days ago is the last of the year. The Windows Insider team is taking some time off, as a result, there will be no new builds until next week.

“Windows Insiders the build labs are closed and we are all on vacation until about Jan 2-3. You can expect more Windows answers than,” Dona Sarkar tweeted. “There won’t be new flights until at least a few days into the new year, but if you’re on 17063 and looking for something to do check out the Quests in the Feedback Hub – we added a bunch of new ones going over the things to try in 17063,” Microsoft’s Jen Gentleman also confirmed.

This isn’t the first time when Microsoft stopped releasing preview builds for the Windows 10 operating system during holidays. Back in 2015, Microsoft’s Gabriel Aul also announced that the builds would not arrive during the holidays.

“This time of year many of us take the opportunity to spend time with family and take some vacation time, so the engineering team will be running at a slower pace and many of our key people who drive our flighting process will be out,” Gabriel Aul, former head of the Windows Insider team explained in a blog post.

The new builds for Windows 10 would only arrive in 2018, Microsoft is also expected to release builds for Insiders at a faster pace starting next year. It’s worth noting that the next build won’t include any major changes since the engineers are on a leave.
