Google may be prepping to update the user interface of iGoogle, its entry into the personalized home page space. A user noticed the slight change while visiting iGoogle Japan, and sent proof to the Google Operating System Blog.
As for what's new, the rounded corners are gone, and controls are now only shown when you mouse over a gadget. Also, each gadget now gets its own little icon that can be seen to the left of its title.
The new interface is reportedly available only to a limited number of users right now, as is usually the case with Google's UI experiments. Whether or not this is going to get pushed to all iGoogle users at some point remains to be seen. It could undergo some further tweaking before that happens though, or it could be scrapped altogether. Only time will tell.
