Microsoft says that Bluetooth speakers will stop connecting to devices running Windows 10, version 1903 after installing the KB4505903 cumulative update released on July 26, 2019.
Besides the Bluetooth speakers no longer working properly, users will also notice a Microsoft Bluetooth A2dp Source entry under the Sound, video and game controllers node displaying a yellow exclamation mark icon in Device Manager.
This hints at the device being impacted by some issue related to either missing drivers or the driver not being installed correctly.
After
KB4505903 is installed on a Windows computer with an internal speaker installed, users will experience one of the following issues says Microsoft's support article:
A Bluetooth speaker cant connect to the computer.
A Bluetooth speaker can connect to the computer. However, the speaker output sounds noisy (bad
quality).
A Bluetooth speaker can connect to the computer. However, the sound is generated by the internal
speaker instead of the Bluetooth device.
Workaround for Bluetooth speaker connectivity issueMicrosoft also
provides a workaround for fixing this problem which involves using the System File Checker (SFC.exe) tool to repair corrupted or missing system files.
To do this, users with affected systems have to follow these steps:
Open the command console by using administrative authority.
At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press Enter:
sfc /scannow
Note It may take several minutes for the command operation to be completed.
After the process is finished, restart the computer.

Previous Windows 10 v1903 Bluetooth issuesThis is not the first time Microsoft customers using devices updated to Windows 10 version 1903 have experienced other issues with Bluetooth.
In June, users started experiencing Bluetooth pairing and connectivity issues after applying recently released cumulative, security, or monthly rollup updates because of Redmond blocking some Bluetooth devices due to security risks.
"These security updates address a security vulnerability by intentionally preventing connections from Windows to unsecured Bluetooth devices," said Microsoft at the time. "Any device using well-known keys to encrypt connections may be affected, including certain security fobs."
One month earlier, in May, Microsoft said that computers with Realtek or Qualcomm Bluetooth radios encountered issues discovering and connecting to Bluetooth devices after installing the Windows 10 May 2019 Update because of outdated drivers.
This issue also prompted Microsoft to add a compatibility block added to stop users from updating affected systems to prevent them from experiencing downgraded performance or usability problems.
