CES 2017: Lenovo Miix 720, Another Surface Clone, Launched
« on: January 04, 2017, 05:33:45 AM »
Lenovo Miix 720 is officially in the mix, as the latest 2-in-1 model launched by Lenovo at CES 2017. The Chinese hardware giant has been a firm believer in this concept of hybrid devices.

Ever since Microsoft pioneered this genre with the original Surface RT.

And it unveiled today, its reinvented Microsoft Surface clone that is at home both as a tablet or a laptop, thanks to the built-in kickstand and the detachable keyboard. In fact, the tablet also comes with what is being called the Lenovo Active Pen 2 — which is very much a variant of the Surface Pen.

This handy little accessory is sold separately and carries a price tag of $59.99.

Speaking of price tags, the tablet itself is scheduled to hit store shelves in April 2017, with a starting price of $999. Lenovo plans to launch it in two different colors. Champagne Gold and Iron Gray.

Here is how it looks:

This super light device sports a 12-inch QHD+ display that offers a curious little resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels. The top of the line models houses an Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD storage space.

It also comes with Intel HD integrated graphics 620, and typical connectivity options and capabilities, like WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, microSD, and audio jack.

The device can run either Windows 10 Home or Pro and is a feather light at 780 grams. But this weight increases to 1.1 kg when attaching the keyboard. Which itself includes backlighting support, and comes standard in the package.

Lenovo claims the battery life of up to 8 hours, less so when running demanding apps and games.

But overall, another neatly designed and power packed addition to the Windows 10 ecosystem, this.
