Advantech debuted a new 10-inch tablet, meant for industrial use. This model is the Advantech PWS-827, a 10-inch slate, with a variety of CPUs inside and also a rugged design, with MIL-STD-810G certification.

The product is also certified with an IP65 rating and also has a 4-foot drop tolerance. Inside we find an Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processor, while up front a 10-inch high brightness LED display with WUXGA resolution. It’s protected by Gorilla Glass 3. You can also work on it with gloves on. The product has built-in front and back cameras, 1D/2D barcode scanner and NFC RFID reader.

They placed a hot swap battery into the device, with support for up to 11 hours of operation. It runs Windows 10 OS and comes with optional peripherals, like a vehicle docking station, desk docking station and multiple extension modules.

The Intel Core processor mentioned above is a 7th gen model with Integrated graphics and turbo boost. The version of Windows 10 available here, is a Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64 bit one. We don’t have a price yet, but I expect it to be big, seeing how this is a product for enterprises.
