MSE and Firewalls
« on: April 25, 2010, 10:37:51 PM »
As some of you may know, I read like crazy and try to learn from my many failures. Question:

1) I like Firefox primarily because of the Add-Ons which are quite useful and am not willing to give it up.
2) I also like MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) and would like to keep it.
3) I tried ESET and find it distasteful and awkward to use.
4) Zone Alarm is wonderful - BUT - fights big time with MSE
5) Avast and Norton 2010 (ugh!) both lock up Firefox

So what interactive firewall can you guys recommend that plays well with MSE and Firefox, and also what AV also gets along with MSE and Firefox?    :-\

                                                               (I run Win 7 32 and 64 bit OS)

Hi incurablegeek

I am using the Norton 2010 suite here ans I must say that its working perfectly with Firefox which I'd also like because of the useful Add-Ons I also use together with NIS 2010 suite the MS Defender and they are doing well here together, I have also tried a several days the MSE and Norton was not giving real problems while using them both.
