Auto Play
« on: October 11, 2011, 05:58:32 PM »
Hi
Back with another upgrade issue. DVD's won't autoplay. I went into the control panel autoplay and the box to autoplay all is checked and DVD's are selected to autoplay with the Windows Media Player. When I put in a DVD the computer the internal computer fans kick in as expected but nothing happens on the screen. Thoughts on that, please?
Thanks

Javajolt,

Thanks for the reply.
The top link you posted is a 32bit program which won't run on 64bit. I tried the bottom link but no change. Do you have a suggestion for a specific BB I might try?

Thanks

Dale,

Have a look here, it deals with assigning autoplay to different divices.

Yes, I have these selections set up as depicted for both CD's and DVD's.

Thanks for your help but I'll just live without the autoplay and start things manually. Hopefully things will work when I do a clean install for Win 8. I have to let it go. I get obsessive about little things like this and spend way too much time on it.

Thanks Again,

I finally fixed the autorun / autoplay function. I used this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967715 and ran the enable fix it Icon about half way down the article. I worked for my 64bit Win7 OS.
