Details are yet to be provided, but Gabriel Aul, the head of the Windows Insider program, has revealed on Twitter that build 10145 is already being tested internally, and if no major bug is discovered, it could be pushed to the fast ring in the coming days.
Aul hasn’t said when this could actually happen, but Microsoft usually needs two or three days to test builds in the OSG ring, so if everything goes according to plan, expect the new build to see the light of day either later this week or early next one.
No major changes expectedSince this could be one of the last (but not the last!) builds before Windows 10 RTM, Windows 10 build 10145 is not expected to bring any big changes for Windows Insiders because the company is now working only to fix bugs and performance issues, so only refinements to the overall operating system would be included, with less focus on new features and settings.
In fact, some people claim that Windows 10 recently reached RTM Escrow phase, which means that development of new features froze and the company started focusing exclusively on bug hunting, so the upcoming builds on RTM have only slight chances to bring anything new in terms of the feature lineup.
Windows 10 is projected to launch of July 29 and Redmond says that several new builds would be released until then, but most of them would be specifically focused on bug fixing ahead of the big day next month. By that time, everything should be up and running, so it remains to be seen how fast Microsoft advances in its hunt for Windows 10 bugs.
