Microsoft made the installation of Windows 8.1 Update a mandatory baseline for users that want to receive future updates, but a substantial amount of them experienced various issues when deploying the first ever refresh of Windows 8.1.

As a result of this, many users are yet to upgrade.

But the software titan is aware of this fact, and has recently issued another patch for Windows 8.1 users that is supposed to solve many of these installation problems.

This is what the company said in a statement released in May:

Quote
“While we believe the majority of people have received the update, we recognize that not all have. Having our customers running their devices with the latest updates is super important to us. And we’re committed to helping ensure their safety.”
Although specific details are missing from this revised version of KB2919355, but this fix is being delivered to Windows 8.1 installations currently via the Windows Update option.

Machines that are not updated to the latest version of the operating system will not receive any other patches and security fixes unless the KB2919355 pack is deployed, so if any of your computers are still experiencing issues when installing Windows 8.1 Update, then take this revised fix for a spin.
