Being the underdog has its advantages. Microsoft have released a pretty neat Cortana vs Siri commercial that takes a jab at Apple, by comparing the iPhone with the HTC One M8 for Windows.
Dubbed “Mirror, Mirror”, this creative ad demonstrates some of the capabilities of Cortana, the digital voice assistant that arrived with Windows Phone 8.1. The punch line is reserved towards the end, and the joke has got something to do with speakers.
The clip entertainingly (yes, that’s a word) highlights the HTC One M8 design over the Apple iPhone 5S, at least when it comes to speaker placement. Other points are also highlighted in this short video.
Since this is ad is a solid 30 seconds in length, chances are that it will roll out on TV screens across the globe. The Windows Phone variant of the HTC One M8 was recently unveiled, and is due to launch worldwide in the months to come.
Cortana, on the other hand, has been here for 5 months now, and from the looks of it, compares very favorably to Siri that launched some 3 years back.
