But no fix for the Windows Hello battery drain bug? Microsoft has made the very first Surface Book firmware update available for download, with the aim to address a very specific problem.
That being the screen flickering issues that a few users have been experiencing.
It also improves the general performance of the device.
The first laptop from Microsoft is now out in the wild, but the early buyers of the Surface Book have already encountered a few problems — one of which causes the screen to flicker at random times on the desktop and even when running third-party applications.
Redmond quickly acknowledged the issue and late last week, and promised a fix.

Called the System Hardware Update 11/2/2015, this new firmware updates the HD Graphics 520 driver to version 20.19.15.4308, which Microsoft says addresses some display issues, including some scenarios that result in screen flickering.
Expectedly, the graphics drivers were the culprit, causing the screen flickering on the Surface Book.
And also on the Surface Pro 4, apparently.
So if you are an owner of either of these two devices, and have this problem then make sure you update them with these new firmware.
Along with the above fix, the new firmware version also brings an update display audio driver to version 8.20.0.650 for compatibility with the upgraded graphics driver.
And finally, the Surface Embedded Controller Firmware update (v103.855.257.0) and Surface Pen Settings driver update (v10.0.302.0) are also in for improved system stability and support for future functionality on Windows 10, respectively.
