How To Place Menu Bar At The Top In Internet Explorer 8
« on: April 27, 2009, 07:00:12 AM »
Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) final was released few days back, which has become the default browser for many Windows users now. The new browser comes with many new features such as the Web Slices.

In Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) browser, the menu bar appears just below the address bar by default. If you have moved to IE8 from Firefox you might want to place the menu bar at the top of the address bar, just like in Firefox browser.

You can move the menu bar to the top of the browser (above address bar) easily with a simple registry hack. Just follow the instructions given below get the menu bar just above the address bar.

1. Type in regedit in Start menu search field and hit enter. Alternatively, you can also enter regedit in run dialog box to launch Windows Registry Editor.

2. Next, navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser

 3. In the right-side pane, create new 32-bit Dword value (right-click > Dword) named ITBar7Position and set the value to 1.

4. Close the registry editor and reboot Windows to get the new look.

5. Enjoy with the new IE 8 look.
