On April 11, Microsoft kicked off the rollout of the Windows 10 Creators Update. Microsoft is gradually rolling out the update to avoid the potential early issues, similar to how the company rolled out last year’s Anniversary Update. Despite the gradual rollout, the Windows 10 Creators Update is already powering a substantial amount of Windows 10 PCs all around the world.
According to the latest report from AdDuplex, the Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703) is now powering nearly 10% of all Windows 10 PCs. 82.1% of users are still running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update which is completely expected as the rollout of the Creators Update just started about two weeks ago:
Microsoft seems to be prioritizing its own Surface devices for the Creators Update rollout as well. More than 20% of Microsoft’s Surface devices are already running the Windows 10 Creators Update. Nearly 30% of Surface Books and nearly 25% of Surface Pro 4s are also now running the Windows 10 Creators Update which is pretty impressive.
Windows 10 Creators Update will likely take over the Anniversary Update in a few months time, and that’s really the beauty of Windows as a Service. Last year’s rollout of the Anniversary Update proved that Microsoft’s Windows as a Service plan is working perfectly for the company, which is why more than 80% of users are using one of the latest versions of the OS.
