Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 8 OS comes with an updated taskbar that features a small user picture tile in the notification area of the taskbar. The user picture tile displays which user is currently logged in, and gives quick access to the user account settings right from the taskbar.

If you are on Windows 7 and eagerly waiting for Windows 8, you might want to get that cool user picture tile in your Taskbar as well. Today, we are here to share with you a free tool that lets you get the user picture tile of Windows 8 in Windows 7 as well.

Taskbar UserTile is a small utility (484k) which helps you get Windows 8 taskbar user picture tile in Windows 7. Once installed, you will see your current user picture in system tray area on the taskbar (next to date and time).

How to use it:

# Download and extract the zip package contents to desktop

# Simply run UserTile (.exe) file

Clicking on the user tile gives quick access to Control Panel and User Account settings.

Please note that this program is still in pre-beta stage. So, you might encounter some bugs while using it. We have tested it on Windows 7 SP1 (x86) without a problem.
