Windows 9 Backup Options Include Cloud, No Surprises
« on: August 27, 2014, 04:40:04 PM »
Cloud 9, much? The OneDrive service is so deeply integrated in Windows 8.1 that it comes as no surprise to see Windows 9 backup options to include cloud.

We await the full details on this right now, but word is that you will be able to back up your files right in the cloud. To be honest, this has been on the cards for a couple of years now, ever since the time of the pioneering Windows 8.

But WZor, the renowned leaker of Microsoft information believes that the company will implement this functionality in the upcoming Windows 9 operating system.

It is still in development right now, so we do not have the full idea of what sort of options we can expect, just how elaborate this feature will be, and what pricing options will be available — provided Microsoft decides to go the premium route.

Maybe 50GB free and the rest available in tiers?

Or maybe just expanding the OneDrive service and reserve space for Windows 9 backups there. Or it could just be the ability to backup Windows 9 settings and things like the Start Menu and Start Screen layouts and all that.

WZor, however, believes that images of physical systems are to be virtualized in the cloud, so this sounds rather elaborate and feature rich.
