Title: Roxio Introduces New Tool for Windows 7
Post by: riso on May 11, 2009, 03:01:59 PM
Roxio has just announced new software for Windows 7 (and Vista) users called Roxio Burn. This CD-burning application allows users to burn discs, including data and audio CDs, and back up files to disc using drap-and-drop.

Unlike previous versions of Roxio burning software programs, this application only shows up on the desktop when you insert a disc into the CD drive – like magic! Then you just drag and drop your files to the desktop icon and hit the “burn” button on the icon itself – no complicated software interface here. To see this process in action, you can watch this video demo.
I’ve never been a big fan of CD burning applications myself – they always seem too convoluted and poorly designed – but this one might actually be kind of cool. Still, I’ll have to reserve judgment until I can play with it myself. Roxio Burn is going to be available as a pre-installed application from PC manufacturers. No word on a standalone version yet
