Twitter was abuzz with reports of Apple’s online store being down for a few hours now. And we now know the reason! There are a bunch of new products announced. Most people seemed to be aware that new Mac Pros and iMacs were coming, but something new was just released too. Meet: the Magic Trackpad.

If you remember, we had reported about the leak of Magic trackpad back in June just before the WWDC 2010 event. Somehow we didn’t get to see it officially then. But here it is now.

Magic Trackpad costs $69 and it is the first Multi-Touch trackpad designed to work with your Mac desktop computer. The entire surface acts as a button, so it’s also a possible mouse-replacement. You can enable and disable gestures at your discretion.

It uses the same Multi-Touch technology you love on the MacBook Pro. And it supports a full set of gestures, giving you a whole new way to control and interact with what’s on your screen. Swiping through pages online feels just like flipping through pages in a book or magazine. And inertial scrolling makes moving up and down a page more natural than ever. Magic Trackpad connects to your Mac via Bluetooth wireless technology. Use it in place of a mouse or in conjunction with one on any Mac computer — even a notebook.
