Microsoft has indicated that the first Release Candidate of Windows7 will be released April 10.
This date is still subject to change if critical problems arise then the release is postponed.
At this time, Microsoft is internal testing the RC and expect the public to be launched April ten.
Provided that no problems arise.
According to Steven Sinofsky head of the development team behind Windows and Windows Live services, there are a lot of feedback requests sent.
Microsoft received approximately 500,000 comments on the beta release.
April 10 is the release candidate public.
It is possible that Microsoft only MSDN and Technet members provide with a copy .
It is also possible that Microsoft RC only offers in America.
It seems that MSDN and Technet members receive a notification first.
All is still quite foggy,

It comes 1 day before my birthsday ;D very nice present.
Are there any new features coming to RC1 or are there only stability and graphic(like icons etc.) changes?

Hi lollebol
Welcome to the Forum, Enjoy your stay, If you have questions, or need assistance we are ALL here to help each other.
From the looks of the builds that have been released Win 7 seems to be relatively complete (I guess we will see soon) and is very stable. I have just come thru my 5th install of it 3 x64 and 2 x86, and it is a breeze. I will be reporting on how my last install went with a time layout and software installed.
Again Welcome,

i just hope microsoft is going to work more in the x64 version than in the x86 one because the x86 one has its limits now that the hardware is more performant
i am testing only x64 versions as i like to squeeze out all the performance from my pc
and....april 10 seems a bit early, but hope it will be fine

we are one of the microsoft partner... and i got a chance to see the road map for this year... one of them is windows 7... rc might be release this april. rtm will be somewhere around september. and it will be available on a retail shop somewhere next year. we got some NDA which i cant really disclose the actual date etc...
hopefully no problem or delay so we can see the final build around this year...

yeah, but it seems to be advancing too fast to rc and as i see it still needs a lot of the vista parts to be stable...it shouldn't be an rc until july 2009
and as someone said in this topic, the year was missing from the rc release date
