Post by: javajolt on August 19, 2010, 06:40:33 PM

Samsung seems to be on a roll these days with its Android phones. Soon after releasing its Galaxy S, Beam and the mid-range Galaxy 3 and 5, the company has announced its new Android-based device in Korea, the Galaxy U (SHW-M130L).

The phone is basically a slightly modded Galaxy S for Korea. The AMOLED screen on the Galaxy U has the same resolution as the Galaxy S - 480 x 800 pixels with support for 16M colors. Other features include a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and support for 720p HD video recording.

The phone is available exclusively on the J-CDMA, CDMA Rev. A networks. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also supports DMB-TV broadcasts.

The Galaxy U can accept microSD cards of up to 32GB. An 8GB card is included in the package. The rest of the features are similar to that of the Galaxy S.

The phone is priced at $682 (Rs. 32,700 approx.) in Korea.
