Windows Phone 7 was bound to connect to more computer platforms than PCs, and Microsoft has confirmed as much, twice. Engadget reports Microsoft’s plans for an OSX beta application with this statement, “Later in 2010 Microsoft will make a public beta available of a tool that allows Windows Phone 7 to sync select content with Mac computers.” The Zune software beta was also made public in a separate tweet (which has since been deleted) by Oded Ran, Microsoft UK’s head of Windows Phone marketing.

Both announcements were short on details but the Zune software on PCs already follows the iTunes model of being the only way to sync media, photos, music, and videos from a user’s PC to their phone, so we expect that it will work just the same way on Macs.
